Spider, Inc was formed in March of 1995 by Victor Jarvi, Eric Jarvi, Ed Clements and Reverend Donald Riechers and entered into a contractual agreement with Gheen Manufacturing to produce Gheenoe boats under the Spider name. The Gheenoe has been manufactured by Gheen Manufacturing since 1971.

In the fall of 1996 we introduced our Peenoe line of canoes, the first being a 15 ft double-ended paddler. This migrated into a lighter and smaller 11 ft double ended paddler and a 12 ft square back rated for a 3.5 HP motor. The reason for the smaller models was an on-going customer request for smaller and lighter boats. Today our 11 ft model weighs in at 60 to 65 pounds and the 12 ft model is 85 pounds.

During September of 2000 we released for production additional Peenoe models. This included a 15 ft 11 in Sport Canoe and a 14 ft SportBoat. We also began to build a Classic design. The size is 16 ft 1 in in length, 52 in beam, and a transom 42 in wide up to 20 inches high. The Horse Power rating is 25 to 30 pounds.

Starting September of 2000 we began producing only the Peenoe line. These are double-ended paddlers of 11 ft and 15 ft 8 in. Our new and wider Peenoes are the 12 ft 6 in, 14 ft SportBoat, 15 ft 11 in SportCanoe, 16 ft 1 in Classic and the 17 ft 4 in FlatsBoat. The 17 ft 4 in FlatsBoat will have a 58 in beam and a transom width of 48 in, rated for 50 HP outboard motor. The sides are 17 inches high from the outrigger to the top of the gunnels which run the length of the boat. All of our models have various options and internal floor plans. A Fly/Casting deck is available on any of the following models. 14 ft, 15 ft 11 in, 16 ft 1 in, and the 17 ft 4 in FlatsBoat. You may also purchase the Classic and the 17 ft 4 in with a Center Console Station.

These Peenoe models have a Spider designed “V” style bow and higher sides for a much drier ride. All hulls are made using a closed cell PVC Foam Core creating an extremely strong hull without an increase in weight. In 2005 we started vacuum molding our hulls. Now we vacuum all hulls, seats, live-wells and lids. There is NO WOOD in our boats. They are 100 percent composite materials.

Our latest product to enter the market is a 14'10” Square Back Canoe. With its slimmer lines this Peenoe appears more like a traditional square back canoe. The hull has only a steering chine and outriggers for ultra stability.

In addition to Top Quality boats, we produce the Spider Hider. A field blind utilizing a fiberglass one man lay-out. They are used for wildlife photography, land game as well as water foul.

We are very excited out our new materials and models that will expand and improve our product line. Our goal remains only the highest quality and latest technology available. We are not attempting to sell the least expensive product, but continue to strive to give out customers Top Quality, a Great Warranty (3 years), and Fair Pricing in the market place.
